What is Texting Betty Recruiting?

Texting Betty started as an automated texting tool for real estate teams that runs inside Follow Up Boss. Texting Betty Recruiting is a separate, done-for-you service built on the same idea: an AI texting assistant reaches out to agents for you and hands the interested ones to your calendar.

Here’s how they describe it. You send a list of agents, pulled from a tool like Courted, BrokerMetrics, MarketView, an MLS export or your CRM. They clean it and remove your do-not-contact names. They write the text campaign with you. Then Betty, who introduces herself as a talent scout working with your brokerage, texts the agents, answers their replies and follows up over several months. When an agent is interested, a human account manager books the call on your calendar and handles reminders and no-shows.

Their site says list building is no longer a paid service: you pull your own list using filters they give you, and they ask for a database of at least 3,000 contacts.

What is BrokerStaffer?

BrokerStaffer is agent recruiting you only pay for when it works. We build your target list for you, from your MLS data vendor (Courted, Relitix, MarketView or BrokerMetrics) or our own agent database. We take out your current agents and anyone on your Do-Not-Contact list. Then our team emails each agent at their personal inbox and follows up and nurtures them until they’re ready.

When an agent says they’re open to a conversation about joining you, they go to your team right away with their MLS production and the full conversation, in a recruiting CRM that syncs with Follow Up Boss. Across our campaigns, 5 to 10% of the agents we email reply.

Texting Betty Recruiting pricing vs BrokerStaffer pricing

Texting Betty Recruiting is a monthly subscription, month-to-month, with no setup fee. Growth is $999 a month for up to 1,000 agents contacted, one market and one phone line. Scale is $1,999 a month for up to 3,000 agents across up to three markets, with a dedicated account manager. Enterprise is custom. Booked appointments are included and uncapped.

BrokerStaffer has no monthly fee. You pay $150 per interested agent, $250 per interested agent who matches your production filters, $500 per call the agent shows up to, or $5,000 per salaried hire. There’s a $500 one-time infrastructure fee and a deposit that’s refunded after your first bill. Billing is every two weeks, and you can pause or cancel anytime.

Here’s what three months looks like at each company’s published prices:

OptionMathCostNote
Texting Betty, Growth, 3 months3 × $999$2,997Paid whether or not calls get booked
Texting Betty, Scale, 3 months3 × $1,999$5,997Paid whether or not calls get booked
BrokerStaffer, 20 interested agents$500 one-time fee + 20 × $150$3,500You only pay for agents who said yes. $300 deposit refunded after your first bill

To be fair to Texting Betty: their page says they book about 2 calls per 100 agents contacted, and that about 9 in 10 of those calls happen. If those numbers hold for your market, a subscription can work out well. The difference is who carries the risk. With a monthly fee, a slow month costs the same as a great one. With BrokerStaffer, if no one says yes, you don’t pay for leads.

Who builds the list: you or us?

This is the biggest practical difference. Texting Betty asks you to bring the list, at least 3,000 contacts, and to pull it yourself with their filters. If you already pay for Courted or BrokerMetrics and someone on your team knows how to export a clean list, that’s fine. If not, it’s work that lands back on your desk every time the campaign needs fresh names.

With BrokerStaffer, building the list is part of the service. We pull every agent in your market who matches your criteria from your data vendor or our own database, remove your current agents and your Do-Not-Contact list, and keep it current. You tell us who you want to hire. We do the rest.

Text messages vs personal email

Texting is fast and gets seen. That’s a real strength of Texting Betty’s approach, and their page says more than half of booked appointments come from the fifth message or later, which shows how much follow-up matters.

We see the same thing in email: most interested agents reply after a follow-up, not the first message. The difference is the setting. A personal email lands in the inbox an agent already uses for business, reads like a note from a person, and gives a busy producer time to think before answering. Many top producers treat unexpected texts from unknown numbers as spam. A thoughtful email built around their own production is easier to say yes to.

We also keep nurturing the agents who say “not now.” Recruiting is about timing, and an agent who isn’t ready in March may be ready in June.

Production data on every agent

Texting Betty books the call. What your team knows about the agent before that call depends on the list you supplied.

BrokerStaffer attaches MLS production to every interested agent: sales volume, transactions and more, right next to the conversation in your CRM. On the pay per qualified lead plan, you set production filters with us and only pay for the producers you actually want to hire.

Speed: how fast each one delivers

Texting Betty says campaigns go out three to five business days after they receive your list and information, and that team leaders usually see their first appointments within a week of launch.

BrokerStaffer delivers first interested agents within 48 hours of launch, and we build the list for you, so there’s no export to prepare first. Every interested agent is handed to your team the moment they reply.

Proof: what each one can show you

Texting Betty shows sample text threads, three testimonials identified by first name, role and city, and headline numbers: more than 1,000 appointments booked, more than 100,000 agents texted and more than 30 brokerages served. Their page doesn’t name client companies.
